Hello, Emily Tellwright here, author, artist, publisher and owner of Castle Sefton Press. Here at CSP we are all about a complete creative experience and bringing original, imaginative work into every part of life to enrich and support our journey through it.
I have been doing and studying art on and off all my life and I also trained as a classical cellist. My partner John Blake, whose work you will also see in store, was a songwriter in his own band for many years and later trained formally in fine art. We've worked in diverse media, including traditional green oak, embroidery and ceramics but at present my work is mostly charcoal, pastel and acrylics. We are also both fiction authors, and you can find our work on the major book platforms and on our website.
We're not just creative in work, but in life. Almost every part of your day can become an expression of your unique combination personality, experience, heart, mind and soul including your home, how you dress and what you eat. For me, that's what the human experience is about. If we can find beauty and fulfilment in the real world, without having to retreat to cosy fantasy, we become grounded and uplifted and better able to ride the challenges.
That's what I want to share with you through my work. I hope that coaster, card, mug or print that you buy from us will keep giving that energy to you every time you see it. We all deserve that gift.
