Catholicism and 3D Printing Fusion
Catholic Curio is the brain-child of Andy and Caitlin Elder. They have actual, real children too. Five of them, stair stepping their way down every two years from 8 years old to 6 weeks old.
He’s an engineer. She’s a biologist. They’re both Catholic. And they have a lot of kids. See above. The idea to create Catholic cookie cutters came from both an intensely nerdy desire to own a 3-D printer and the need to supplement their income. Also, children like cookies. It seemed like a logical step. Then they purchased a laser cutter (just in case they weren't nerdy enough!), and the ideas just keep growing! The latest: prayer pencils.
The cookie cutters work pretty well: Andy models the cutters (after their amazingly talented friend Katheryn draws the designs, check out the icons in her shop ‘Juniper Plum’), Caitlin does the beta testing of the cookies, and then they all eat the cookies.
The pencils work much the same. Except their kids get to test all the beta pencils by drawing, writing, erasing and chewing on them. They hold up!
They have a passion for adoption, and donate 10% of their printing and lasering time to adoption related fundraisers. So, if you would like a custom cookie or a gross of pencils for your adoption fundraiser PLEASE send them a message.
