31.10.2025: 4 Pfund gehäkelte Kindermützen von Sherrill sind auf dem Weg zu Hope for Appalachia; 25 Mützen, die Kindern in den Appalachen helfen werden, diesen Winter warm zu bleiben :) Wir sind unserer großartigen Freundin Virginia unendlich dankbar, die sich so sehr bemüht hat, das gesamte Garn für diese Mützen aufzutreiben. Virginia, du bist die Beste!!! Vielen Dank an Virginia und an all unsere wunderbaren Kunden, deren Unterstützung diese Spende ermöglicht hat! Wir werden diese Kindermützenspende jedes Jahr durchführen!
25.10.10: Catwalk Repurposing häkelt wieder für wohltätige Zwecke! Sherrill näht viele Kindermützen, die an Hope for Appalachia gehen, damit die Kinder diesen Winter warm bleiben! Wir häkeln jeden Abend, damit wir bis Ende des Monats eine schöne Schachtel mit Mützen zum Verschicken haben :)
27.10.24: Ein großes Paket ist auf dem Weg zu Hope for Appalachia :) Alle Kindermützen und Schals, die Sherrill in den letzten fünf Monaten gehäkelt hat, werden morgen früh verschickt ... 32 weiche, warme Mützen und 11 kuschelige Schals! Wir hoffen, dass dies den Kindern in Appalachia hilft, die kälteren Monate warm und gemütlich zu überstehen. Vielen Dank an unsere gute Freundin Virginia, die sich die Zeit genommen hat, die Wolle für uns zu besorgen, sodass wir etwas tun konnten, das uns so viel bedeutet. Als Nächstes: Mädchenkleider aus unseren Stoffresten!
11.06.24: Catwalk Repurposing hilft nun dabei, die Kinder in den Appalachen einzukleiden. Sherrill hat begonnen, Mützen, Fäustlinge und Schals zu häkeln und zu stricken, um sie an Hope for Appalachia Virginia zu spenden. Diese Artikel werden bedürftigen Kindern in den Appalachen während der Besuche der Organisation vor den Feiertagen überreicht. Wie Sie vielleicht wissen, bewahren wir auch alle unsere Nähreste auf und verwenden viele davon für andere, kleinere Artikel für unseren Shop. Aus diesen kleineren Resten werden wir nun auch Patchworkkleider für Kinder nähen und an dieselbe Organisation spenden. Wintermützen usw. haben derzeit Priorität; sobald die Versandfrist für diese Artikel am 1. November erreicht ist, werden wir uns auf Kleider für kleine Mädchen konzentrieren. Dies alles geschieht ehrenamtlich, sodass wir es abends usw. tun können, zu Zeiten, die normalerweise nicht für die Produktion von Artikeln für unseren Shop genutzt werden. Wir hoffen, diesen Familien damit wirklich etwas zu bieten!
27.03.24: Willkommen in unserem Shop! Alles, was Sie hier sehen, wurde von uns, Sherrill & Jim, in unserem Studio in Pennsylvania handgefertigt. Jedes unserer Stücke ist ein Unikat und wird aus unseren ständig wechselnden Materialien, viele davon Vintage, hergestellt. Wir fertigen keine zwei identischen Stücke. Wenn Ihnen jedoch die Ausstrahlung eines bestimmten Stücks gefällt, Sie es aber in einer anderen Farbe, Größe usw. wünschen, schreiben Sie uns bitte, da wir dies möglicherweise als Sonderanfertigung anbieten können. 09.10.23: Alle unsere Kleidungsstücke werden von Sherrill auf ihrer antiken Singer-Tretmaschine von 1911 (die einzige Kraftquelle sind ihre Füße!) und ihrer elektrischen Singer-Maschine von 1959 hergestellt. Es macht Freude, diese fabelhaften, „alten“ Maschinen zu benutzen, sie regelmäßig zu warten, damit sie reibungslos funktionieren, und etwas vollkommen Gutes zu verwenden, das sonst vielleicht auf der Mülldeponie gelandet wäre. Wir kaufen niemals fertige Kleidung und verkaufen sie weiter – alles wird hier in unserem Studio in Pennsylvania von Hand gefertigt. Wenn Sie eines unserer Kleidungsstücke in einer anderen Größe oder Farbe suchen, schreiben Sie uns bitte. Wir nehmen auch Sonderanfertigungen entgegen und können Ihnen vielleicht weiterhelfen!

13.04.23: Wir freuen uns, das neueste Mitglied unseres Teams bekannt zu geben – Pearl! Sie ist eine antike Singer Red Eye 66 Tretnähmaschine. Baujahr 1911, war sie schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen … aber dank meines Schwagers Tom wurde sie gereinigt, geölt und näht nun in ihrem neuen Zuhause einen wunderschönen Stich! Sherrill arbeitet sich durch die Lernkurve des Tretens und wird jeden Tag ein bisschen besser (es erfordert tatsächlich etwas Koordination!). Pearl passt perfekt zu unserer Philosophie, nützliche Gegenstände vor dem Müll zu retten. Pearl und Maggie (unsere alte Singer von 1959) werden den Kern unseres Nähstudios bilden. Wir haben große Pläne für Pearl, insbesondere in der Abteilung für Katzenspielzeug, wo wir viele schöne Geradstiche verwenden. Bleiben Sie gespannt auf die weiteren Entwicklungen! 10/31/25: 4 Pounds of Sherrill's crochet kids' hats are on their way to Hope for Appalachia; 25 hats that will help keep Appalachian children warm this winter :) We are grateful to our awesome friend Virginia, who has worked hard to source all the yarn needed to make these hats. Virginia, you are the best!!! Thank you to Virginia and to all our wonderful customers whose support helps to make this donation possible!! We are committed to making this children's hat donation every year!
10/10/25: Catwalk Repurposing is once again crocheting away for charity! Sherrill is making lots of kiddie's hats, which will be going to Hope for Appalachia so the children can stay warm this winter! Crocheting every evening so that we'll have a nice box of hats to send by the end of this month :)
10/27/24: There's a large box on the way to Hope for Appalachia :) All the kids' hats and scarves Sherrill has crocheted during the past 5 months will be on their way tomorrow morning....32 soft, warm hats and 11 cozy scarves! We hope this helps the kids of Appalachia stay warm and comfy during the colder months. Big thanks to our good friend Virginia, who has given her time to source all the yarn for us, so that we were able to do something that means so much. Next up: little girls' dresses, made from our fabric scraps!
6/11/24: Catwalk Repurposing is now helping to clothe the children of Appalachia. Sherrill has begun crocheting and knitting hats, mittens and scarves for donation to Hope for Appalachia Virginia. These items will be given to needy children in Appalachia during the organization's pre-holiday visits with them. As you may know, we also save all our scraps from sewing projects, and many are used in making other, smaller items for our shop. We will now also be using these smaller scraps to make children's patchwork dresses for donation to the same organization. The immediate priority is for winter hats etc.; once we hit the Nov. 1 deadline for shipping those items, the focus will switch to little girls' dresses. This is all being done on a volunteer basis, so that we are able to do it in the evenings, etc. during hours not normally used for production of items for our shop. We hope to make a real difference for these families!
3/27/24: Welcome to our shop! Everything you see here has been handmade by us, Sherrill & Jim, in our Pennsylvania studio. Each item we create is one of a kind, made using our constantly fluctuating supplies, many of which are vintage. We don't make two items exactly the same; however, if you like the vibes of a certain piece, but would like it in a different color, size, etc please message us as it is possible we may be able to offer that as a custom make. 10/9/23: All of the clothing we offer is made by Sherrill, on her antique 1911 Singer treadle machine (the only power it uses is her feet!) and her vintage 1959 electric Singer machine. There is joy in using these fabulous, 'old' machines, performing routine maintenance to keep them running smoothly, and using something perfectly good that might have otherwise ended up in a landfill. We never buy finished clothing and resell it--it is all made by hand, here in our Pennsylvania studio. If you are looking for one of our garments in a different size or color, please message us. We do take custom orders, and we may be able to help you out!

4/13/23: We're excited to announce the newest member of our team--Pearl! She is an antique Singer Red Eye 66 Treadle machine. Born in 1911, she was starting to show her age a bit...but thanks to my brother-in-law Tom, she's been cleaned up, oiled, and is sewing a beautiful stitch now, in her new home! Sherrill is working through the learning curve of treadling, and is getting a little better each day (it does actually take some coordination!) Pearl fits right into our philosophy of rescuing useful items from the fate of the dumpster. Pearl and Maggie (our vintage 1959 Singer) will form the core of our sewing studio. We have big plans for Pearl, particularly in the cat toys department, where we use a lot of nice straight stitch. Stay tuned for future developments!
