Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

To care for your new stained glass piece it's a good idea to periodically wipe it down with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. To maintain the shine of the metal most carnuba car waxes work great (for silver and black patina pieces) to keep your piece looking brand new! Just apply a thin layer of the wax and buff away with your microfiber cloth. Carefully handle your new stained glass piece as they do contain lead, so wash hands thoroughly after handling! For copper patina pieces, the Clarity brand polish works best! Copper patina items will tarnish over time, and will tarnish faster in humid environments. Using this polish will keep them nice and bright!

Wholesale availability

As of 2/29/2020, I am not taking on any wholesale accounts.

Custom and personalized orders

As of 2/29/2020, I am not taking on any custom orders or commissions. However, I MAY be able to incorporate small personalizations to preexisting designs upon request.

Flower requests for small anatomical hearts

Due to the limited variety and quantities of flowers I have, I may not be able to fulfill specific requests for flowers. Please understand when ordering that if you make a specific request along with your order, it is likely I will not be able to use the specified flowers.

In stock quantities

The quantities that I have posted as "in stock" for my made to order items only refer to the amount of raw materials I have available to craft a certain quantity of items to ensure I do not oversell any items. When ordering a made to order item, be sure to check the advertised shipping times (current lead time is 4-6 weeks due to high volume of orders).

Time it takes to craft your order

I’m just one person here at Cedar+Spruce, and I’m also a full time graduate student. Due to a recent increase in order volume, lead times are 4-6 weeks, although most items are finished somewhere within the 3-4 week range.

Fading of botanicals

The plants I use are picked and pressed by me and are entirely natural! I store them in a dry and dark environment to maintain their color there, but once they’re introduce to clear glass in a bright environment they will begin to fade over time. If maintaining the plants color as long as possible is important to you, I suggest hanging your botanical pieces against a wall that does not receive too much sunlight to preserve that color for longer!

An example of how quickly the plants can fade: a customer let me know that within 2 days (48 hours- wow!) of hanging her small fern heart directly in the Arizona sun all the ferns had turned a tan color. To me it is equally beautiful, but if it isn’t what you want beware of direct sunlight!

Lost packages and shipping insurance

I am not responsible for any lost packages, damage, or late deliveries due to USPS. The postal service can be a fickle thing and as a small business owner I cannot bite the cost of each shipping problem customers may have. For domestic orders, Priority Mail shipments are insured up to $100, and First Class Mail is uninsured. If you would like to insure you First Class Mail or increase insurance on Priority Mail please refer to my separate shipping insurance listing. For international orders only Priority Mail International is insured, and that amount is up to $200. First Class International can not be insured and I am not responsible for the costs of the package, but will refund your shipping costs if damage of loss occurs.
