UV Reactive yarn?!? Yes! I currently carry 5 UV Reactive dyes that will fluoresce under black lights.

I carry 50+ dyes and I add more all the time! I also mix my own from these colors, adding to the range I can obtain.

Each skein of hand painted yarn is done individually. Each skein is unique! This is one of many techniques I use.
Heavenly fibers and out of this world colors!
Celestial Strings Yarn was born of a desire to create stunning, saturated, vibrant hues with luxurious fibers inspired by the cosmos.
Celestial Strings is committed to bringing you the absolute best Indie Dyed yarn, and I cut no corners to obtain that.
My dye process starts with hand selecting each and every yarn I purchase. I look for consistency in every ply, a soft and even hand, and yarns that are free of VM such as grass, dirt, or twigs. I purchase yarns with quality in mind to ensure that your knitting, crocheting, or weaving is as uninterrupted as possible.
Every dye is hand picked by me, tested and retested for consistency in color and saturation. My dye supplier is in state and carries a wide range of dyes and adds new ones frequently to stay on trend, making it easier for me to acquire new colors year round.
I employ many techniques to dye yarn, including speckling, hand painting, kettle dyeing, dip dyeing, and gradients to name a few. Here is where I put in extra time to ensure that your yarn is the absolute best Indie Dyed yarn you've ever used. Usually when a yarn is dyed and rinsed that's the end of that yarns story. It's dried and shipped off to the customer, and that's the end of the process. Celestial Strings believes that more needs to be done. Dyeing can leave yarn brittle, dry, splitty, or just just plain limp. In a proprietary two step process I clean and condition every skein after it's dyed without the addition of lanolin or fragrances. It's time consuming and adds an extra day to the production time but it's worth it.

Returns and exchange details
Return Shipping Cost: If you find that you must send something back, return shipping will be paid for by the shop *if* the item being exchanged was 1) shipped in error 2) was the incorrect item 3) other shop error. The customer will pay for return shipping for all other reasons.
Speckling, spotting and streaks of a lighter color (like lavender in a section of purple) is very normal for hand dyed yarns and are not a basis for returns/refunds/exchanges. If you need a very solid/even color please simply contact me before you make your purchase and I will accommodate you as best I can.
Refunds are not currently offered by the shop. Exchanges can be made if the yarn or fiber is returned in its original state and the shop was contacted about the problem within 3 days of the shipment being delivered. Yarn that has been caked/wound (by yourself or by the shop), swatched, or otherwise altered are final sale and non refundable.
Returns/refunds/cancellations on custom orders are not accepted.
Please make sure to order enough yardage to make your project, as my dye batches are small. Hand painted yarns will carry subtle differences in shades through each skein, it's the wonderful thing about hand painted.
Monitor/Displays vary. Should you be uncertain of a color please message me before purchase and I will send pictures to you in multiple lighting. I do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds based on color.

Additional policies and FAQs
My work as a dyer can be described on two different ways, depending on what I'm dyeing. First, my standard colorways are repeatable and reliable, and I can create and recreate them with a high level of accuracy and Second, my Whimsical Whims where I get to play with colors and allow my creative flair come out, looking for fun combinations and new inspiration. This is where my Whimsical Whim comes from. A sense of whimsy and creativity, often done "on a whim" because inspiration strikes at the most random times.
Whimsical Whims have a painterly application of dye which results in unique and interesting combinations and distribution of the colors to the fibers. The colors flow into one another in varying intensities and depth which results in colorways that are difficult or impossible to replicate. Despite seeing several skeins with the same name, they won't be exactly alike - even when they come from the same pot! So when you see "Whimsical Whim" and fall in love...
*Some Whimsical Whims are repeatable in that I use the same colors in similar ways to create a relatively repeatable result.
