Timeless Ceramics: Blending Tradition and Modern Design
With over 20 years of experience in design, ceramics has always held a special place in my heart. As a Latvian, I’m proud to share the rich, still-thriving craftsmanship from my small but passionate country in Northeast Europe. Latvia’s centuries-old traditions in ceramics and other crafts continue to thrive, despite the modern challenges they face. This cultural heritage deeply inspired my graduation project at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where I focused on preserving and reinterpreting the traditional ceramic techniques from the East of Latvia. The unique characteristics of these methods and materials have become the foundation of my work, blending the old with the new for a contemporary touch.
Over the years, work has expanded beyond dinnerware and Ceramic Network was born. We now design and produce custom, one-of-a-kind interior pieces for some of Latvia's most prestigious restaurants, while continuing to experiment with and develop new ideas. Our team is passionate about guiding design processes, from unique handcrafted works to larger production runs, always with an eye on quality and craftsmanship.
