What started out as a hobby, has led to such an exciting career for me! I originally started out hand writing chalkboards, hence our original name, Chalk in Hand; I would create layouts and hand write each and EVERY board!! It was an awesome learning experience, with many trial and error along the way. We have just recently changed our name to L'amour Decor now that we hand craft each sign with stencils that I design. I absolutely love what I do and have expanded to wooden signs, and framed home decor as well!
I used to think that I didn't have what it takes to start my own business and become self sufficient. The bar of success always seemed out of my reach, or at least that's the story I self envisioned. Then I see so many Etsy owners that literally started from nothing. One great example is my brother, Ty Bowman, who is the owner and founder of Lifetime Leather Co. Ty and his wife started from small means in their tiny apartment but have now grown into a large business that financially supports not only him but his employees.
I know with hard work and consistency, I can follow in those same footsteps that he and many other successful etsy owners created.
