About Change To Treasure
At age 9, I was introduced to the world of coin collecting by my grandmother. Even at that early age, I was instantly drawn to the unique beauty and symbolism of coins. Over time, my interest turned from simply collecting coins to learning how I could work with these coins to make fresh meaning out of their legacy. As a high school student, I learned the art of crafting coin rings like the ones made by soldiers in years past. This was a form of "trench art" that took many hours to complete. The concept was that soldiers could create a ring for their sweethearts from an object (e.g. silver coin) that was easily available to them.
Then I met the perfect person to help me take my craft to the next level: my wife Ashley. It’s telling that after holding her hand just once, I was able to design a ring that fit her finger perfectly. A coin collector herself, Ashley encouraged me to keep refining my craft. Inspired by her support, I studied classic techniques for shaping coins into rings, discovering novel uses for commonplace tools of the trade along the way, and even invented new steps in the process as I discovered ways to pour extra attention into every detail. By 2013, I had developed my own signature techniques for preserving details on both sides of the coin in the ring, while also ensuring a smooth and comfortable fit.
Change to Treasure started as a simple way to share my love of coin rings with other coin enthusiasts. Excitingly, the business has grown by leaps and bounds each year. Today, I’m honored to create rings with over 25 years of experience and expertise to help others forge their special memories into wearable treasures. My focus on quality over quantity is expressed in a meticulously curated collection of rings made from authentic U.S. coins. I also offer custom ring craftsmanship services that will transform a precious coin from your collection into a one-of-a-kind statement ring. Every coin ring I create is crafted with the same loving care as the first one I made, and never leaves the bench until it meets the standard of quality and beauty that I would gift to my own loved ones.
