Daytime Registered Nurse...weekend artist.
Being a Registered Nurse can be rewarding and stressful. Painting is freeing...soothing. I can immerse myself in creativity. No one to take care of but myself and nothing to do but feel inspired to make a plain white canvas come to life with texture and color.
I'm a self taught artist, have never had an art class. I spent most of my high school and college years taking biology and chemistry classes, was running track and cross country....it never crossed my mind to take an art class.
About 4 years ago, I needed a painting for my living room...I had just redecorated, but didn't want to spend the money to buy one. So, I bought a canvas and paint, and made one. Then another...and another...and another. I loved it. Soon, I had so many, that I needed a way to sell them. I discovered Etsy and listed a few for sale. To my surprise, they started selling. I've been painting ever since.
I had paintings shown in a gallery in New Orleans, I've sold many paintings internationally, had paintings published in the Spring 2012 West Elm magazine and the Fall 2012 West Elm magazine, the Home Depot Blog, October 2013 issue of Southwest Homes Su Casa Magazine, along with many sales here nationally.
I'm very proud to announce that I'm now working on pieces for the Phoenician Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona for their current remodel.
I love what I'm able to create, and I hope it shows in my work.
