CherryPips - The Story So Far........
I launched Cherrypips in 2007.
Up until then, I had always worked full time as a Community Worker. Unfortunately I had a long spell of illness, which required me to think about a new direction.
I started my Etsy shop in 2007 and made friends with a lovely group of people who were also starting out about the same time. Many are still selling and promoting their work online.
For me, this was the first time I had experience of selling my work. It was really exciting putting parcels together and sending them to far flung locations in the USA, Japan, Australia and Europe.
Over the years I have continued to focus on my CherryPips Brooch Collection but more recently I have introduced colourful brooch kits, a selection of textile art cards and card/brooch sets.
I decided on the name, CherryPips - I wanted something that reflected the cheerful, colourful and fun aspect of my work as a Designer Maker.
I have always loved fabric, wool, textiles, haberdashery, buttons and threads.
Making CherryPips items has given me the opportunity to link all my favourite collections and passions together.
I love designs and work from the 1960's and 70's and I think this clearly shows in my own work and design. As much as possible my work includes at least some up-cycled materials.
I currently sell on Etsy, on Folksy in Great Britain and through a number of wonderful galleries and shops in the UK.
I like getting messages via Etsy and would welcome any feedback, thoughts or comments. I am always happy to work on commissioned pieces.
