Welcome!
My name is Amy and I have been the owner of Chic Threads for 5 years on etsy and 9 years total!
My 10 favorite things (and not in order):
1. Chai Lattes
2. Photography (all day, every day;))
3. Dogs (I'm totally a dog girl)
4. Family (it's a given so I won't list people here:))
5. Soup (which leads me to...)
6. Winter (it's SO pretty and....soup!)
7. Jesus
8. Sewing (maybe that's a boring answer but...)
9. Large Vehicles (I'm afraid of riding in small cars!)
10. Books!
If you're here and not minding a longer version, I began Chic Threads when I was mainly a stay at home mother to young children (they're still young-ish but 10 and 12 is must more manageable time-wise!) I began it all with the wristlet keychain which I first sold in boutiques prior to opening an etsy shop and have sold thousands over the years (who doesn't love a keychain that's cute, sturdy and helps you find and hold onto your keys, right?!) and after a few trials with other products as well, I decided to focus on women's accessories. Since I already made keychains and other strap type items (belts, lanyards, etc), I had many (and I mean many) women ask if I did or would make camera straps. I finally caved when a close friend asked if I could custom make one for her upcoming vacation and after a lot of research and trials of sewing different styles, I designed my scarf style camera strap!
This might be a great time to add in that I have always loved photography and often had people comment "you should be a photographer!" when seeing images of mine and I would always smile and say "someday maybe:)". So, I already owned a dslr so I had a great idea of what I wanted in a camera strap! I listed my first camera strap the day after Thanksgiving in 2014 and had no idea that I would be spending most of my time from then until Christmas listing, making and shipping camera straps! To make a long story short, I wanted a "real" business with everything that entails and had to choose to either hire a photographer for product photos or since I already had the desire to learn, I could invest in myself and take the leap to learn photography. You may wonder why I share this journey about photography but it ends up coming full circle...here I am years later and I can say that my camera straps and my etsy business has helped push me to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a photographer! I am now a wedding photographer and the owner of Amy Elise Photography, alongside being the owner of Chic Threads by Amy! I cannot express how wonderful it is to serve both of these rolls! And honestly, this wouldn't have all happened without you, all of my fantastic customers!
I am now proudly a work at home mother and owner of two businesses. I am able to sew and shoot/edit between dropping off for school, cheerleading, cross country and life!
Thank you so very much for allowing me to share this with you and allowing me to serve you through my products.
-Amy:)
