Growing up with a Japanese mother who was well versed in ethnobotany and blessed with porcelain skin, I was conditioned at an early age of the importance of maintaining ones skin through holistic means just as my ancestors did. This meant not only eating a healthy diet, but also using our earth's natural resources as opposed to harmful, chemically processed products which flood our market today (from low to high end beauty brands). My aim in creating CHIKYU (Japanese for earth), is to encourage people to focus on longevity by using pure and natural products derived from mother earth, that are functional, luxurious and simple, without compromising the skin with toxic chemicals. Having a fancy container, label or strategic marketing gimmicks can certainly sell a product, but if the product contains harmful chemicals, it can wreak havoc on your skin and ultimately your body. I strongly believe experiencing natural, effective plant based organic beauty should be an everyday, affordable luxury for everyone without compromising your wallet.

The philosophy behind creating CHIKYU is to provide consumers with simple and effective ingredients with purity in mind. This means starting with the basics by using what our beautiful earth has to offer without compromising it, or you. With this in mind, CHIKYU has gone back to the beginning of time to bring the foundation of skin care to the surface of our world today. I view skin the same way an organic gardener views his/her soil; the skin of our great earth. By this I mean; what a gardener puts into the soil affects the growth and stability of what a gardener is attempting to produce. This very same concept applies to the care of our skin. Each of my highly effective, artisanal products are made to order, handcrafted with soul, passion and in small increments without the use of harmful agents, artificial dyes, agents, or toxic preservatives and NEVER tested on earth's beautiful creatures (animals). CHIKYU products retain a relatively short shelf life ranging from 3 to 6 months.

At CHIKYU, I not only emphasize the importance of maintaining ones skin, but I am a strong advocate in promoting overall wellness with ones longevity in mind. Therefore, I strive to sustain the highest standards in promoting pureness, while advocating beauty as a whole body experience. NOTE: Good skin care exceeds far beyond that of great products. CHIKYU also encourages consumers to examine their lifestyle from the inside out. This means making every attempt to get plenty of exercise, eat a healthy "whole" diet (free from preservatives, processing, additives, sugars, etc.), drink plenty of water, exercise, get plenty of rest and protect your skin from the sun! As much as I love the outdoors and being at one with nature, I'm never without a hat. Remember, you may have the greatest skincare regime, but it will hardly make a difference if you don't promote a healthy lifestyle.
