Hello and welcome!!

I'm so glad you've come here and decided to stay a while! Sit back and let me tell you a little about us!

I grew up submerged in baking and cooking since I was little. Not because my family was in the business but because from an early age (I'm talking grade school!) I was already obsessed! Instead of after school cartoons, I watched Food Network. Go figure.

After graduating from culinary school and working years in restaurants my husband and I decided I should become a stay at home wife and really focus on all my edible decorations.

I knew I couldn't do this alone, so I enlisted the help of my artsy fartsy hubbie! He is my right hand man! And has become quite the fancy stencil maker! We are a husband and wife team that wanted to offer all the moms (and some dads of course) a chance to really make their own cakes and cupcakes really shine. We know not everyone can afford those fancy bakery style baby's first birthday or sweet sixteen cakes, so we decided to create cute and totally affordable edible decorations so the average mommy could whip up her own special treat and decorate it like they do professionally!

I came up with the name "Sweet Lavender Bake Shoppe" literally because I love lavender! Haha. True Story! It made sense to add on the "Sweet" as well as the "Bake Shoppe" to emphasize it's bakery/dessert aspect.

All of our decorations are made in small batches and made to order. We make each cutie out of premium gum paste and food coloring. We hand mix colors trying to get your perfect hue, hand create all our own stencils so our decorations are unique to us, AND hand cut EVERY SINGLE THING OUT! Phew!

We choose to do it this way because we feel it gives our cuties a more personal and less factory-made feel. No Cricuts for us, please ;)

We also hand pipe or in some cases hand paint our cuties so, again, we can really get that mom and pop, homey feel. But don't let this fool you- all our decorations are professional grade and professional looking! We're no sloppy Jo's! ;)

Doing things this way is harder work, and creates a lot more set backs (longer production times), but we wouldn't have it any other way. Sure we could cookie cutter everything out, or go buy a Cake Cricut and make carbon copy decorations... And sure that would be quicker, easier, and less stressful on us...but that's not what we're about. We're personal and friendly and love the simpler way of life. We want to pour love into all our cuties so everything about your special day is exactly how you want it to be. Plus doing it this way gives us hours of time to sit, cut things out, and chat together! Haha. So thank you for that friends!
