What constitutes the driving force that motivates me to create artistic jewellery is the urge to transform common or unusual materials into shapes and forms that will give life to them, and bring them into coordination with nature and their owner to endow them with a unique persona.
Materials, such as wood, bone, leather, mother of pearl, gemstones, and even glass mass, combined with silver, surrender to the creative powers of the artist to reveal the marks of the lapse of time and of the elements on them. They are not just decorative elements, they are the extension of their owner's character.
Through my work I intend to get aligned with the craftsmen of the antiquity, in order to view the world of jewellery through their perspective, and connect the present with the past, by incorporating morphological characteristics directly linked to the ancient civilizations of the Aegean, and continental Greece.
I was born and raised in Ouranoupolis – literally translated as the city of the skies, where I run my own workshop since 2004. I studied “Handmade and Mass Jewellery” at that MOKUME technical school, and through etsy I wish to get the message each piece of my handmade jewellery has to tell passed to those who can read beyond their curves and corners.
