A Dog's Love
If you have taken the time to visit my shop and are now reading my story, I am sure we have something in common and that is…our love for dogs. I honestly couldn’t imagine a world where I didn’t own a dog, nor would I want to. My current dog, Dudley, is a golden and labrador mix and like his brothers before him… Dexter, Bosley and Chumley… I just love him to bits! Chumley was my first golden, hence the name of the shop. My husband often jokes that if our dogs were human I would have married them instead of him! I love him dearly but this is probably true! Because honestly there is nothing quite like the love and loyalty of a dog. Like many dog moms, I often kiss and hug the dog before him when I return home. And truth be told, he often does the same thing! But I don’t mind. I mean how can you resist all that tail wagging missed you to pieces love!
So in 2019 as my career in nursing was winding down, I turned to my love of sewing and started making bandanas for Dexter and it just seemed to take off from there and before I knew it, Chumleys was born. And I absolutely love my job! And the fact that I get to do it in my slippers and pajamas is such an added bonus. That is until Dudley gives me the stink eye and it is time to go for our walk! But making these bandanas for people like me who just love their dog is such a joy. Lets face it, dogs need food, water, exercise and shelter. They don’t actually need a bandana (maybe I shouldn’t be saying this but it is true…lol!). So the fact that you are looking to buy a bandana for your pup really says just how much he/she is loved.
My bandanas are truly made with love for those who truly love their dog. And I am so grateful that I get to share in this lovefest we have with our pups. I am so humbled when I read all the kind words from my customers in both my reviews and messages. And getting to share in all of the special moments, both happy and unfortunately sometimes sad. And it never, ever gets old. I just feel so lucky and appreciative to be part of such a warm and caring dog loving community.
