A Tale of a Tail
Hello there, friend! City Kitty here...self-appointed CEO (that's Chief Everything Officer) of City Kitty Custom Tags.
Our little shop was born out of a big love for fluffy felines and furry friends. My favorite human and business partner (okay, fine, she's my mom), Sonya, grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia, where her family passed down the art of engraving. These days we share a cozy apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where I run headquarters (and keep tabs on the neighborhood pigeons) from my favorite fire escape window perch. Talk about a bird's-eye view!
Every now and then, Mom decides I need a change of scenery and we head out for a "big city adventure." Mom straps on my harness and collar and we stroll through Carl Schurz Park. You don't meet too many other kitties walking on a leash in the park (I suppose every empire has it's quirks), but I enjoy the fresh air - of sorts, it's still NYC after all. And yes, the pigeons are even more fascinating from the ground. I don’t wander far, but it gives Mom peace of mind knowing my ID tag is there, just in case curiosity ever gets the better of me and I Houdini out of my harness. Moms…always worrying.
And that’s really the heart behind our work. An ID tag isn’t just about practicality, it’s about love. The midnight zoomies, the motorboat purrs, the goofy grins, the dramatic sighs when you don’t share your snack…whether your sidekick is a cat who rules the windowsill or a pup who rules the couch, every pet is delightfully unique, and their tag should be too. That’s why we engrave with care, polish with purpose, and send each piece into the world carrying a little bit of our heart.
