How Claras Hand Made came about.
Welcome to ClarasHandMade,
I started sewing again in 2011 after a long break in creativity, I started with creating items for friends and family. I was encouraged by a co-worker to set up an on-line shop, and so ClarasHandMade was born in March 2012.
I am constantly inspired by the old to create something new. I adore old doilies, crochet lace and fabrics, they bring me so much joy. I am inspired by Swedish and French styles of years gone by. The items I make are often rustic and always relaxed, comfortable and inviting. The pieces I make are what I call modern vintage.
My creative process and my drive to create is sometimes random, I like to play around with my fabrics in an unstructured way so I do not always know what I will make.
During my many shopping trips around antique markets, thrift shops and charity shops sometimes I come across something vintage that is just lovely in its self and I will list it here as well.
My items have been made in my home studio.

Etsy achievements:
1) Being accepted as a featured user on Pinterest in 2014 via an Etsy UK team post. I was also able to meet the UK Pinterest head of marketing and an Etsy admin for coffee to discuss how Etsy and Pinterest can work together.
2) I accepted an invitation to take part in secret Etsy testing at the London offices in November 2015.
3) I have been accepted to be a member of the subcomittee of the Etsy Sellers Advisory Board as of January 2015. This is a year long post and an absolute honour and an exciting challenge to take part in helping to change this site for sellers in a positive way.
