Classic Hardware is jewelry, accessories and gifts with class and sass!
I have been making and selling jewelry since I was a teenager. I have a background in photography and worked as an art teacher before starting Classic Hardware in 1995 in San Francisco.
I have primarily been a wholesaler selling to many specialty stores and boutiques in the USA and abroad, but we do sell our items on our own website and in 2014 we opened our first brick and mortar boutique in Magnolia Park in Burbank which I really enjoy. I love designing jewelry items that combine the look, feel and quality of vintage jewelry with a modern edge twist.
I am so fortunate to be able to collaborate with so many talented painters and illustrators and feature their gorgeous art on my jewelry designs. Their styles juxtapose sweet and dark, innocent and provocative, delicate and powerful and often have the ability to make you smile. I have also created jewelry designs for Anna Sui and Betsey Johnson, two designers I greatly admire. I also had the great opportunity to design a collection for Disney Parks for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in 2010.
Our signature Retrolite ® jewelry collection is my homage to my love of the collectable Bakelite jewelry from the 1920’s. It’s a high-quality, hand-poured resin that is polished and then tumbled for days to achieve its beautiful sheen. Tempting like candy with a bit of edginess, just like all of Classic Hardware -Accessories with Class and Sass! Classic Hardware is proudly made in the USA!
