The care and compassion that is shown by them is just unbelievable to me. From the very beginning, with the communication, I knew I had picked the right place to have make my ring with my beloved dog, Ayana’s, ashes. Truly they are one of a kind! And my ring, I am SO in love with it, it’s simply perfect!!! And a topping on all of this, they sent a charm with her ashes along as a Thank You!! It’s awesome, and like my ring, I wear it everyday! I can’t Thank you all enough for this beautiful gift you have created!! Can’t recommend them highly enough!! The quality of the work is top notch as well!! Literally everything about these pieces are perfection!

She was extremely communicative and sympathetic to how tough it is to lose a pet companion. I had an option to tell her a little bit about my dog and send photos. This made me feel like the team really went the extra mile. My ring is perfect. It is exactly as described on the site, and I was provided details of how each piece will be 100 percent unique. Losing a pet is devastating, but I feel a different type of connection thanks to CloseByMe.

What determines the color of the setting?
There is no color added to the ashes during the setting process; the setting of your piece will reflect the hues naturally present in your loved one's ashes.
How much of the ashes do you need to make a piece?
Only a very small amount of ashes is used in the setting process. The exact amount needed depends on the size and depth of the piece's setting, but for simplicity's sake, I ask that a tablespoon of ashes be sent.
How do I get my loved one's ashes to you?
I offer a prepaid kit that contains a small metal screw-top container for the ashes, a plastic ring sizer, an optional information card for you to fill out, and a prepaid padded envelope to return everything via USPS 1-2 Day Priority Mail Express. If you choose to forgo getting a kit, instructions on how to send your loved one's ashes to me without one will be provided in a detailed order confirmation.
Can a piece be made with something other than ashes?
In addition to or instead of ashes, my pieces can be set with hair or fur, sand, soil, dried flower petals, powdered breastmilk, or even small scraps of cloth. Please note, however, that setting with anything other than ashes will often result in a very different-looking setting than what you see on my listings.
Can I order a piece and fill it myself or at my local funeral home?
Unfortunately, it is not possible for my pieces to be set or "filled" either by funeral homes or at my clients' homes. This is because my pieces, unlike traditional urn jewelry, are not filled with dry ashes and then sealed; they are set using a patented process that relies on a high-grade jewelry resin to solidify the ashes and bond them directly to the metal of your chosen piece. Given this, the only way to receive a piece of jewelry from me is to be comfortable with sending the ashes into my studio.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Once I have received the ashes, it takes anywhere from 1-8 weeks for the order to be completed and shipped out, depending on which piece from my shop is ordered. If you know which piece you are interested in and in which metal, feel free to reach out for a more specific estimated turnaround time.
Will my piece be able to withstand daily wear?
My cremation jewelry is cast as a single piece from a mold to ensure maximum strength and durability so that you can wear it as often as you would like to. Please keep in mind, however, that it should still be cared for as you would any other piece of fine jewelry, and that the ashes setting itself requires certain precautions. The most important things to avoid are harsh chemicals, alcohol-based products, sharp or abrasive items, and prolonged exposure to extreme heat or direct sunlight.
