ClubModerne offers hand-picked, original, vintage, mid century modern home goods in a shop with a specialty, "boutique" feeling. I always have a lot of unlisted stock, so if you see something I've previously sold that you like, and wish you could buy, there's a good chance I have another example. Just ask. You can see previous sales by clicking on the numeral Etsy posts representing the total number of my shop sales.

Returns and exchange details
Each item at ClubModerne is vintage and must be expected to have normal wear for its age. All of my items are pictured and described to the best of my ability.

I only accept returns in the event I have grossly mis-described an item, and it is not as represented. Customers must contact me and obtain approval for returned items if a refund is anticipated. Approved returns must be postmarked (or placed in the custody of FedEx or UPS for return shipping ) within 3 calendar days of delivery or no refunds will be issued.

Cancellations: Orders are binding contracts between buyer and seller. Should a cancellation be the result of a mistake on my part, refunds will be issued in full. Should a buyer request a cancellation in writing prior to shipping NOTE THAT A 15% RESTOCKING FEE will be deducted from any refund owed to the buyer (I purchase postage for items online on occasion, and if postage for shipping the item has already been purchased, postage will not be refunded.) "Customer remorse" or "I found another one I liked better" or "I realized I don't need it, it's too big after all" etc will NOT be reasons accepted for cancelling a sale.

I pack items with extraordinary attention to detail and with extra padding and care. I am proud of my shipping record and hope you will gain confidence in knowing I have had just 2 insurance claims over all the years I've been on Etsy - and each was USPS's fault in handling the package.

That said, should an item arrive damaged please let me know right away so we can work together on a plan to make the insurance claim. Be sure to save all the packing materials until the claim is processed completely. Should a package arrive with visible exterior box damage, please take some photos of the box overall, showing the address label area, and multiple pictures of the damaged area(s) from different angles PRIOR to opening, and take more photographs as you unpack the item to show how the shipping damage or outside impact affected the box's contents.

Damaged items for which postal / shipping insurance claims are made will need to be turned over by the BUYER to the USPS or shipper for a determination of responsibility. Claim determination can take several weeks, even several months. If the shipper/USPS deems themselves responsible for the damage or lost item, they will pay on the claim (cost of item only) and they will keep the item. I will work with you to make sure the payment is appropriately directed if a claim is approved. If the shipper/USPS decides they are not at fault, I will work with you to be sure you are satisfied with the outcome of our transaction.

If you have a problem with a mechanical item from my shop, I want to hear from you. I will do what any reasonable person would do to make you happy. Clocks with new battery-powered movements: The new movements installed on my vintage clocks are guaranteed by me to run without a problem (with a live battery) for 1 year. Other mechanical items from my shop, whether electrical or otherwise, come with a 30-day guarantee. I must hear from you through Etsy in writing within the guarantee period for the guarantee to be of value to you.

Payment
I *DO* ship internationally. Happy to give a shipping quote custom researched for your destination - write and ask me.

Shipping always includes insurance and delivery tracking as offered by the carrier. Some parcels will require signature confirmation on delivery due to theft from porch or unattended delivery areas, which is not covered by insurance purchased for the transaction.

Over-sized items have higher postage fees levied by the carriers - these are termed "dimensional weight" charges.

I may agree to reserve items on request, usually for no more than one week. If you need more time, please ask what arrangements can be made. I will work with you if I possibly can on a reasonable reserve or lay-away request.

Payment is required immediately after purchase, otherwise your order will be canceled and re-listed.

I accept credit cards through Paypal, Checks and Money Orders, and payment through Etsy Payments. Items paid by check or money order will ship within 3 days after the check or money order clears my bank, which can take 2-5 business days.

If you are not a Paypal member: To pay through Paypal with a Credit Card choose the Paypal option and then "continue without a Paypal account" link on the new Paypal page.

Shipping
Shipping fees include insurance and delivery tracking. Some over-sized objects require specially large boxes or crates. In that case the cost of the box or crate will be reflected in the shipping fee or mentioned in the item description as an additional cost to be determined.

Some items will require signature confirmation at delivery; I'll work with you as much as we can to be sure the delivery happens when or where someone is available to sign for you.

Orders usually are sent within 3 business days to your Etsy-registered address. If you are purchasing a gift, drop me a note at checkout and I'll write you for details like costs for gift wrap, special notes and cards. Gift Wrapping with attached notes are available for a (very) nominal charge.

If you need something shipped on a rush basis, let me know before you complete your purchase, so (1) we both are sure you can obtain that service and (2) shipping charges can be adjusted to reflect new services.

I fill out customs forms honestly. Please remember I am not responsible for custom/duty fees or postal transit times. International customers, please be aware that you may incur duties, taxes, or customs brokerage fees depending on the laws of your location and the shipping service's policies. These are NOT extra shipping fees even though they may be collected at delivery by the shipper's representative.

If you are having an order sent to a P.O. box please contact me in advance as additional charges or limitations may apply.
Additional policies and FAQs
Because all the items sold at ClubModerne on Etsy sell are original and vintage, it may make them beautiful and collectible, but it does not make them perfect or even "like new." Vintage means loved and used, with the marks of use often visible. I tend to avoid offering items with unsightly damage, but all the vintage items in my shop are recognizably vintage and show signs of age and use.

I do my best to describe and photograph each item to visually reveal it to customers with accuracy. Please be aware that vintage items can be expected to show at least some signs of age, including marks of wear and use, as well as physical changes in materials caused by environment and time. If you’re looking for that brand new look you should buy the item new.
