Why I Started CoBéBé
I started CoBéBé because I wanted to build something of my own, but it didn’t take long before it became tied into real life at home as well.
Like most parents, we ended up with loads of toys, but none of them really held attention for long. Things would get used for a few minutes and then left, and before you know it, you’re either trying to constantly entertain or just reaching for a screen because it’s easier.
At the same time, you’re seeing all this stuff about “learning through play”, and it sounds great, but it’s not always that clear what that actually looks like in your day-to-day.
So I started simplifying things a bit. Less out at once, a bit more thought about what we were actually using, and just small ways of guiding play instead of trying to control it all the time.
That’s where everything here has come from.
Some of it is really simple, like the posters. Things that sit in the background but still help children pick things up naturally, like recognising real-world situations or building habits over time.
Then there are the printables and little challenges, which are more hands-on. Just easy ways to turn everyday moments into something a bit more meaningful without needing loads of prep.
And then the products themselves, like Forest Friends, which are designed to be something children can actually sit with, come back to, and use on their own rather than something that gets picked up once and forgotten.
None of this is meant to be perfect, and it’s definitely not the only way to do things. It’s just what’s been working for us, and what’s helped make play feel a bit calmer, a bit more focused, and a bit less overwhelming day to day.
