My pottery studio is currently having a makeover, since starting my pottery journey just over 4 years ago. I'm making the space a lot more functional (which is key using a small space), increasing the safety for cleaning (clay & glaze dust inhaled through the making process is terrible for your health) which means production times, the amount I am able to produce should drastically increase.

I'm sure I'll be wondering why I didn't do all of this sooner, but never the less very excited for it's completion. Here's a bit of an update on the making and shipping.

- My large 400ml mugs have quickly turned into top selling products predominately in the US and AUS. Making them still feel like I'm throwing a bucket (small coffee drinker here) but you guys are loving them so I'll keep them coming!
- I've now got 3 x personalised listings for those that want a cup, mug or large fruit / serving bowl with a special message. The fruit / serving bowls have been the biggest seller, you've got more room to write a message to those you're gifting to which I think has been a big factor.
- I'm looking to slightly thin the handles out on all of mugs, think of a 2.0 more refined version so watch this space! You may not be able to see if pictured as the difference will be very small to the eye but you'll certainly feel it.
- I'm looking into a core range that I can glaze consistently. A good handful of my items fall into this category but a handful or more do not due to some glazes behaving in unexpected ways, which may change the way some listing may look only being posted when made instead of with a lead time to keep the images and the listings true to what you see.
- Maybe lastly a big update to shipping and dispatch. I am the one person you see behind the whole process. I make the items, I glaze, I fire, I photograph, I make the listings, I pack , I ship, I email, I'm the customer support team (I think you get it haha). With that being said, shipping daily or every second day was eating into the workflow and my ability to produce so with that being said I've made an update to my shipping schedule. All orders (that are made and ready to ship) will have a one week lead time. Meaning they will be shipped within a week, it may be exactly a week or it could be the next day pending the shipping schedule. This allows me to create more and batch my workflow to be the most time effective freeing me up with a little more time for creating and hopefully starting more on the social media side. Make sure you factor this in when ordering an item or needing an item for a special occasion. The shipping dates you see when purchasing on Etsy are accurate and true.


And lastly, thank you. I started this Etsy store a little over 2 years ago, only 12 months ago or less opening my store up to the International market. You've kept me incredibly busy with almost 550 orders now!!!!! I use to do social media and then I realised I quickly couldn't meet the demand on people wanting my items both across Etsy and Social Media that I focused on creating not social media. Maybe the new studio and shipping will allow more time for both, as I consider both to be very important as my creative process continues to evolve!
