Creo que todos tenemos un Ser Creativo.

Está cableado dentro de nosotros y lo que nos hace exclusivamente humanos.

Y al igual que mover nuestros cuerpos, comer alimentos nutritivos y trabajar con un terapeuta, nuestros Seres Creativos también necesitan nutrición.

Siempre he sido creativo, pero desde que caí por la madriguera del conejo después de que nació mi primer hijo, se encendió un fuego dentro de mí y he estado en una misión para activar el potencial que podía sentir dentro de mí desde entonces.

Crecí con una tía abuela que era una prolífica acuarelista. La consecuencia no deseada de ver su increíble trabajo en todas partes en mi infancia fue esta: pensé que se suponía que debías descubrir en qué eres bueno y hacerlo por siempre y para siempre (y para siempre).

Solía llevar tanta vergüenza por no poder hacer eso, y cuando escuché a Marie Forleo llamarse a sí misma una multi-apasionada, algo en mí cambió. Me dio permiso para evolucionar y cambiar. Me hizo sentir que todo de mí es bienvenido y valioso, y ya no me sentía roto o indigno de ser un "gran artista A".

Soy completamente autodidacta en todo lo que hago (¡nunca tomé una sola clase de arte en la universidad! ¡Jadear! ¡¿Cómo?!). Y ahora dejé que mi curiosidad me guiara, habiendo FINALMENTE abrazado mi incapacidad para mantenerme interesado en una cosa para siempre.

Así que esto es lo que esta tienda de Etsy es para mí: un lugar para encarnar este conocimiento y compartir mi trabajo a medida que me muevo hacia lo que se siente vivo. Mantenerme alineado con mi Ser Creativo y honrar la inspiración es una combinación mágica que puede verse diferente cada vez.

Aquí en mi tienda encontrarás arte para elevar e inspirar, que se sentía vivo y quería venir a través de mí (¡y hacia ti!). Cada pieza tiene una historia y comparto estos momentos de chispa en las descripciones.

I believe we all have a Creative Self.

It’s hardwired inside us and what makes us uniquely human.

And just like moving our bodies, eating nourishing food, and working with a therapist, our Creative Selves need nurturing too.

I’ve always been creative, but since falling down the hand lettering rabbit hole after my first child was born, a fire was lit inside me and I’ve been on a mission to activate the potential I could feel inside me ever since.

I grew up with a great-aunt that was a prolific watercolor artist. The unintended consequence of seeing her incredible work everywhere in my childhood was this: I thought you were supposed to figure out what you’re good at, and do it forever and ever (and ever).

I used to carry so much shame over not being able to do that, and when I heard Marie Forleo call herself a multi-passionate, something in me shifted. It gave me permission to evolve and change. It made me feel like all of me is welcome and valuable, and I no longer felt broken or unworthy of being a ‘big A artist.’

I’m completely self taught in all that I do (I never even took a single art class in college! Gasp! How?!). And now I let my curiosity lead, having FINALLY embraced my inability to stay interested in one thing forever.

So this is what this Etsy shop is to me: A place to embody this knowing and share my work as I move towards what feels alive. Staying aligned with my Creative Self and honoring inspiration is a magical combination that can look different every time.

Here at my shop you will find art to uplift and inspire, that felt alive and wanted to come through me (and on to you!). Each piece has a story and I share these spark moments in the descriptions.
