How colibri's cakes started...
I'm a homestay Mom of two beautiful boys. Married to a wonderful man. I'm 29 years old. I always liked to do crafts and use imagination to create new things. I started to learn basic cake decoration, in 2014. It was just a hobby. But with time I discovered that I love baking and decorate cakes. It keeps my mind working. So, I wanted to help my husband financially and I start making homemade cakes for family and friends.
Colibrí's Cakes were born while I was in my garden arranging my flowers. I like to keep my garden pretty. One day, I was pruning my plants.
When a hummingbird came to my fountain water. He did every day since then. I love hummingbirds.
So, I took that name for my business, that on Spanish means "Colibrí". I did it that way because Spanish is my first language.
Colibries are very small creatures. But they are still so special and intelligent birds. They are the only birds who can fly backwards. They are amazing creatures!!
I felt like them. Small and simple, but unique!!
That's why I decided to open my Etsy store. To shere all that I can make and help others to create beautiful cakes. Etsy give me the opportunity to showcase my products easly. Working from home, gives me the liberty to take care of my family and help my husband financially.
