Siempre me ha encantado la artesanía y el arte en general desde que era un niño. Mi abuela y mi tía son artistas y siempre trataron de compartir sus conocimientos conmigo y con mi hermana. Estudié Psicología y luego Arteterapia en Argentina. Sentí que necesitaba un vínculo entre mi carrera y el arte, porque en mi experiencia hacer arte es curar. Ese fue el momento en que comencé a llevar mi arte a otro nivel.
Cuando me mudé a Colorado con mi esposo en 2010 para vivir en un rancho en las montañas, me inspiré en la naturaleza y comencé a pintar en pedazos de madera que encontré en el granero. Pintar sobre madera se convirtió en mi nuevo placer, y disfruté de todo el proceso, desde encontrar las piezas como tesoros olvidados hasta expresar todas mis percepciones sobre los animales, los colores y los cambios de estación en el área. Cuando acumulé muchas pinturas, llevé algunas a mi tienda de consignación favorita en Salida para ver si podían venderlas. Los dueños me llamaron al día siguiente para decirme que todas las piezas se vendían y comenzaba un nuevo capítulo en mi vida artística.
Ahora que vivo en Colombia, todavía veo el mundo en color, colores brillantes. Colorful Ideas nació de mi deseo de expresar la magia de la naturaleza a través del color y la forma. El tipo de magia que despierta un sentido de unidad con todo lo que nos rodea.
El arte se trata de conectar, conexiones puras con lo objetivo o subjetivo, pero una conexión real. Mi arte es un homenaje al mundo natural, a la vida, a los colores, al misterio dentro de cada ser vivo en este planeta.
Pinto sobre diferentes materiales, especialmente madera de granero y madera a la deriva, para poder darles otra vida a estos materiales. Esto ha convertido la búsqueda de mis lienzos naturales en una experiencia casi meditativa mientras busco en las playas de Colombia.
I have always loved crafting and art in general since I was a kid. My grandmother and aunt are both artist and they always tried to share their knowledge with me and my sister. I studied Psychology and then Art Therapy in Argentina. I felt I needed a link between my career and art, because in my experience making art is healing. That was the moment I started to take my art into another level.
When I moved to Colorado with my husband in 2010 to live in a ranch in the mountains, I was inspired by nature and started to paint on pieces of wood I found in the barn. Painting on wood became my new pleasure, and enjoyed all the process starting from finding the pieces as treasures forgotten around to expressing all my perceptions about the animals, colors and season changes in the area. When I accumulated a lot of paintings I took some to my favorite consignment store in Salida to see if they could sell them. The owners called me the next day to tell me that all the pieces where sold and a new chapter in my artistic life started.
Now that I live in Colombia, I still see the world in color, bright colors. Colorful Ideas was born from my desire to express the magic of nature through color and shape. The kind of magic that awakens a sense of oneness with everything around us.
Art is about connecting, pure connections with the objective or subjective, but a real connection. My art is a tribute to the natural world, to life, to colors, to the mystery within every living being on this planet.
I paint on different materials, especially barnwood and driftwood, so that I can give these materials another life. This has turned the hunt for my natural canvases into an almost meditative experience as I search the beaches of Colombia.
