Recently, I was in Israel. One notable export of Israel is its olive oil. In Northern Israel (the Galil), I visited a soap factory which made soap from olive pits. They then used the olives themselves to make olive oil. Not only is this environmentally friendly, as olive pits supposedly sink into the land and make the land barren for growth, but also it is efficient. And most of all, they were incredibly soft and smooth; they felt great on the skin!
I have a similar idea, but with fruit peels. Even though they can be used in different forms, fruit peels are often just thrown in the trash. Using them in soap is an interesting way to upcycle. Not only is it organic, but fruit peels are also good for your skin. My soap also has any essential oil you want in it, making this a 1-2 punch for smoothing out skin.
One of my goals was to help the environment by eliminating waste (using the fruit peels). Taking this even further, I decided to donate 40% of my profits to the Global Soap charity. Learn more about this charity and its goal at: http://www.globalsoap.org/
