I am inspired by my son Connor. He is disabled and has special needs. He is the love of my life and I would have no inspiration without him!
I started making Jewelry to help pay for things Connor needs that Medicaid and other sources doesnt cover. I cant work because Connor is to Fragile to go to school.

Alot of people ask me what r Connors conditions I will tell u more about my little miracle.His b-day is July30th 2001 Connor was born with severe congenital hydrocephalus.His head size was 52 cm at birth A child is usually born with a head size of about 25 cm. He also has several other extremely rare brain disorders; unilateral closed lip schizencephaly,partial agenesis of the corpus callosum,neural migration,cortical dysplasia,hypotonic cerebral palsy,seizures,lennox gastaut syndrome,reactive airway disease,dysphagia,he has a g-tube ,fundo,and a vp shunt he is nonverbal and cant walk,sit up,or hold his head up for more than 5minutes at a time, despite all of this Connors vision is great!He is very happy and i think hes got alot more going on in his head than he gets credit for i think he is so smart,silly and a complete joy to be around. Its what he can do that matters not what he cant! He struggles and fights daily to do simple things we take for granted on a daily basis, He cant go to school because a common cold could land him in the ICU. He is kinda like a bubble boy and cant leave the house unless he has to to go to his many drs appts. He has 10 doctors currently. He has taught me more in his 12 years of life than anyone in my 34 years has. and he has done so without ever saying a single word. I have never been more proud of or in love with anyone in my entire life!


Connor inspired me to use my creativity to benefit him. I cant work but needed money for things that medicaid does not cover. I started making jewelry over 17 years ago but didnt stick with it but one day about 6 years ago I just pulled out the supplies I had stashed away and got to work making jewelry for the yardsale that my Godmother Freda had for Connor (to raise money to get him a van) I wanted to contribute somehow-well every woman likes jewelry right? I was able to raise some money and everyone really liked it--I started taking it tio the Childrens Hospital with me and the Connors nurses would buy it up! Then one of the told me about Etsy--when he was discharged that day I went home and signed up for our shop CONNORINSPIRESAMY The name just popped in my head and that was that. I make lots of different kinds of jewelry but really love victorian,vintage,gothic,cameos,and nature inspired pieces--I just buy what I like and just make what I see when I look at my stashes of supplies or a idea will pop into my head and I will make it! It has really turned into a passion for me and gives me something to do when my Connor is sleeping or playing on his own--I am home 24-7 I really only go to Drs appt and the store or to run errands.
I really hope u enjoy my shop as much as I have and find something that u will love to wear and just remember that every piece is made with love and inspired by the most amazing little boy/gift. The money is used for more supplies, Etsy shop fees,paypal fees, and to buy things Connor needs.
