A labor of love rooted in American history.
Primitive Candles and Soaps from The Painted Egg at Copper Barrel Farm harken back to a simpler time far from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Each candle is hand dipped using authentic methods employed by early America artisans. Just as the craftsmen of old, our candles’ colors and aromas are derived from natural sources, such as plants and spices.
In similar fashion, our soaps are handmade on our farm in Anderson, SC from pure olive and coconut oils. We use natural scents that are sure to please as the rich lathers provide a silky smooth cleansing action.
This folk art is a labor of love. It is our hope that our passion for the nostalgic and whimsical, bygone days of yesteryear will be conveyed in each one of a kind candle and soap – no two are alike.
The Painted Egg is a micro-business operated from our 40 acre farm in Anderson, SC. Our name reflects my husband’s heritage from Scotland and Ireland. His family made barrels and barrel hoops in their homeland before settling in America. One family member was among the passengers of the Mayflower.
