As an artist who works in both traditional and digital media, I have a lot of tools at my disposal to express my creative vision. My main focus is on creating kawaii cute things and Melanated art. I love these genres as these styles offer unique perspectives on the world around us. From a young age I always made things out of any craft materials I could get my hands on. I started out with paper scraps, felt, empty containers, and glue.
In the world of kawaii art, there is a focus on creating images that are adorable and whimsical. This can involve using bright colors, exaggerated features, and playful elements to bring a sense of joy and lightheartedness to your art. By contrast, my Melanated art often seeks to explore issues related to race, identity, and representation, using powerful imagery and symbolism to convey complex emotions and experiences. I love to showcase the beauty of different skin tones, ethnicities, and themes.
I use the playful, joyful energy of kawaii art to celebrate diversity and representation of the Melanated community. I love to create images that are both fun, beautiful and thought-provoking.
My unique perspective and voice are what make my work unique. By continuing to explore my own creative vision and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with traditional and digital media, I will continue create art that brings joy and is meaningful and captivating.
All of our products are handmade by me at my home studio in Tacoma, Wa.
