Bright, Fun, and Simple image style Quilt Patterns that are Pieced together NOT Applique.
My first quilt design was made for my mother. After making a baby quilt for several of her newborn grandchildren, she needed a new idea for a little girl in a Bunny and Bear themed family. Together we came up with a mosaic style bunny quilt.
As more grandchildren arrived, I started designing based on requests from each new mother. And Grandma made the quilt as a gift. Soon I was designing quilts faster than my family was reproducing.
So after years of pressing and pinning with her, I sewed my first quilt on my own. That’s right, my FIRST quilt! Allowing me to truly say these patterns are perfect for beginning quilters!
However once I started doing the actual sewing, I wanted a faster way to put the picture together. Now the patterns use colored strips, of various sizes, cut into different length pieces, and sewn together following a full page labeled picture. These larger pieces give the quilt a smoother look and make them MUCH quicker and EASIER to sew.
I continue to create new designs to get the perfect quilt into your hands; hopefully without neglecting my husband and young kids at home. It is so thrilling to hear someone say, “That is exactly what I wanted!”
My daughter, now a pin puller and string cutter, asked me when we were making our next “Quilt that Counts.” I told her my shop was called Counted Quilts, but I think she had it right. I love being part of making a gift that really counts. A Counted Quilt is a thoughtful gift that will be treasured for a life time.
