Hi, I'm Walter — the hands behind Craft Daddy.
Married, father of two sweet sons, and a creative heart and soul. While most people relax on the couch after a long day, I prefer to be in my workshop: pouring plaster, a 3D printer building a design layer by layer, or the plotter cutting out a pattern millimeter by millimeter.
What inspires me
I have always been fascinated by the process of creating something new — from an idea on paper to a tangible object you can hold. My sons are a great source of inspiration in this: they look at the world with fresh, curious eyes, and I try to capture that sense of wonder in every product. I love the combination of modern technology — such as 3D printing — with the traditional, artisanal side of plaster casting.
How I make my products
Every piece in my shop starts at my home, in the workshop. For casting, I mix and pour the plaster by hand, let it harden slowly, and then carefully finish it—sanding, smoothing, and applying a coat of paint where necessary. For 3D prints, I design or select the model, set up the printer precisely, and monitor the process closely, to manually rework everything after printing into a flawless final result. And for plotting, I precisely cut patterns from foil, which I then transfer onto the product by hand with great patience.
Nothing leaves my workshop until I am completely satisfied with it myself. No two pieces are exactly the same — and that is precisely why I enjoy this work so much.
Thank you for taking a look around my shop. I hope you find something that you enjoy just as much as I did making it.
