I've always enjoyed making things but started crafting more when I was off work for extended periods of time due to Crohn's Disease. It was something I could do in the comfort of my own home and it helped fill the time (though I did also watch a lot of daytime tv!). I started off by making felt badges but also taught myself how to crochet.
After gifting some of my creations to family and friends I decided to open CraftWithCrohns in February 2019 as a way of fundraising for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. I donate ALL PROFITS (so minus Etsy fees and material costs).
At the end of 2019 I was able to donate £308.73 to Crohn’s & Colitis UK, with another £1572.84 given over 2020, £2009.88 during 2021, £2155.19 in 2022, £2599.02 in 2023, £1869.24 in 2024, and £495.67 in 2025.
(These totals are from Etsy sales, craft fairs, and occasional donations for gifted items.)
I look forward to further crafty creations and fundraising in 2026!

5 out of 5 starsAwesome! I'm super new to crocheting (5 intro Woobles, 1 Amazon hen & chick, & 2 YouTube videos). This was my 1st project without video instructions, written pattern only...thus, I struggled a wee bit (but all my own doing...the pattern was GREAT for my beginner-ness. 1st, I learned ALWAYS read through the pattern 1st...not reading through 1st caused some small intestinal problems, but I was able to squeeze everything in ｡◕‿◕｡ My only real difficulty was with the corners. My past, limited experience has only dealt with SC, INC, DEC, CH, and SL ST. I kept confusing myself with DC and HDC, and having to redo the corners...but again, that was on me, the pattern and explanations within are excellent! ...made for a coworker who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer (thankfully found early). MANY THANKS!!

The only part I struggled with a bit was the fallopian tubes, just because I'd never made anything like them before. Overall, I learned a lot and had fun making this. Thanks for the great pattern!
