A Colorful Story
I was given my first container of pony beads when I was 7. Remember pony beads? Those large, brightly colored plastic beads kids use to make lizards, snakes and other random creatures out of? Yeah, those — that's where Creations With Color began.
I kept making things, giving them to peers, teachers, strangers, really whoever wanted a beaded lizard. At 9, Mom helped me start selling at craft and art shows around the state. I took every jewelry making class in the area. By 15, I was doing art shows and festivals every weekend with "the boyfriend" until my sophomore year in college at Michigan State University.
Now, I make all sorts of beaded items from jewelry to tea infusers to bridal accessories and I love it! Instead of the floor of my bedroom, I now have a studio and instead of pony beads I use semi-precious stones, crystals, and pearls. And that boyfriend graduated to Husband status and still beads when forced.
This is not only my hobby, my creative outlet, but a permanent facet of my life.
