Crafting is my therapy!
After the loss of my one year old son in 2011 I was devastated and totally lost. I didn't know how I would go on. If it weren't for my other two children I would have never gotten out of bed. After several months our Counselor advised me to find something to keep my hands and mind busy so that I could have a few moments each day to escape my life and my situation. I began making hair-bows. I made bows for my daughter, for my friends daughters, for the little girls in my primary class at church, for the neighbor kids, for my nieces, and so on and so on it went. It was great therapy for me but it began to cost more than my sessions with the counselor and psychiatrist. :o) Finally I had to start selling them to pay for my ribbon habit/therapy.
Then in 2013 I decided to take another step up in crafting and design my daughters Halloween costume. She loves My Little Pony but I couldn't find a cute MLP costume anywhere so I decided to create my own design. Once I got started I couldn't stop. She wanted them for birthday, Christmas, you name it. The dresses became my new therapy. Then I started giving them as gifts and well I again found myself having to sell my creations to pay for my tulle habit/therapy. And so my Etsy shop was born!!!
I absolutely live to make these dresses! The process is great therapy for my heart! It makes me so happy to hear how the little girls love their dresses and see the pictures the parents share with me!
I am soooo very thankful for my wonderful customers and the part they play in keeping me sane. ;O)
