The alchemy of art and love
Welcome to Creaturosity. It exists as a showcase and shop for my curious yarn and collage creatures. They love visitors, so please stop by anytime.
One of my greatest joys in life has always been creating. My favorite Christmas present as a child was the annual light blue box filled with new art supplies each year. My art evolved at first from the contents of these boxes, and later from the contents of my world.
Currently Creaturosity contains my batch of strange creatures. These range from yarn art doll plushies who love to live in laps, to flat creatures who live in my collages. Whether making strange creatures makes me a strange human by association is up for grabs.
Some of my favorite materials are unusual yarn and buttons, and vintage ephemera. I define ephemera as anything fun to work with, including vintage postcards, stamps, maps, scraps, and of course those rare but delightfully serendipitous finds. Combining seemingly unrelated scraps into a finished collage is as joyous as the birth of one of my plush creatures.
