Cricket isn't just a nickname anymore.
When my great grandfather was living, his pet name for me was Cricket. No one else really used the name until I was in college, where my awsome friends revived it. There, I met my wonderful husband, whose family is Frisian. I've taken on the Dutch version of the name, Krekel, in honor of his family (they are very proud of their heritage.) The nickname really has nothing to do with my creative endeavors, other than the fact that I am fond of it. It is a name given to me by people who are very dear to my heart, people who have ecouraged and supported my pursuit of art.
Cricket In The Ear is really a hobby for me at this point. I love to sew, and this store gives me an excuse to get the creative juices flowing. Most of my products are made with geeks in mind, with a few random, cutesy items thrown in for some of my younger family members. I am a Trekkie, my husband is a Super Mario wizard, and all of my friends are self-proclaimed geeks of varying types. Thus, my creativity is often focused on geek culture. However, I am open to new ideas. So feel free to convo me with custom requests if you have something special in mind.
