Crow Corner Primitives is a One-Woman Workshop!
I started in wood-working about 30 years ago, by having an annual craft show in the fall with my mom. Starting with just a little band saw and a scroll saw, I cut out, painted and assembled all items myself. It didn't take long for it to morph into building shaker-style furniture, and even though the tools got bigger, I still did all the work myself. I always told people that I got my talent for working with wood from my grandfather! (The cleaning up my workshop and putting my tools away, came from my grandmother!!)
Originally from Iowa, I spent many years working in the banking/accounting fields, but my heart has always been in the workshop. I briefly lived in Lexington, MO, and I had a taste of having my own little retail shop, which is where Crow Corner was born.
I married and relocated to Wisconsin, where we live on a small acreage. My husband loves to help out in the workshop, too, so together we make quite a team! We've set up a workshop in the garage part of the old milk barn and got to work. Now, my husband has started a hobby in melting and casting aluminum! (Look for some of his items to be listed here soon!!) Aside from the workshop, we have chickens (and yes, I built their coop!) and added a garden and now I look forward to the possibility of having my own store here on the property some time in the future. Life is good and the future looks bright for Crow Corner Primitives!!
