All matter is made up of energy and all things vibrate at different frequencies. I believe that crystals can help influence outcomes. As a strong non believer I had seen energy work help people and became fascinated with the vibration properties of gem stones. Science doesn't explain everything so I found myself fascinated by the described properties of crystals. So I started working with various gem stones. I make everything myself so it is all handmade with real materials.
I saw a crystal tree for sale at a gem and mineral show in Kansas City I thought how cool is that. So I started to make a few. I tried selling them at psychic fair, but only covered the booth cost so I then started making beaded jewelry. The jewelry sold moderately well, but it wasn't about selling them. I liked the way the jewelry felt so it wasn't until I started making them as prayer beads for my Sufi friends at the Ozark Sufi retreats that I got more serious about my craft. My first efforts were simple and rough, but I have gotten better with time. I use quartz stones, quartz points and amethyst geode pieces for the bases of my trees. This increases their energetic feel as well as adding to their beauty.
The properties of the stones are what spiritual healers and energy practitioners believe. The use of these crystals for anything other than decoration is purely a spiritual practice. That being said I like to believe that my artifacts can help in your beliefs to influence your environment and yourself.
I have been stringing beads for my friends for a long time now. I recently found a stash of hand dug Arkansas quartz that had incredible feeling energy so I started making Gem Trees again and had my family suggest I open a page on ETSY. I feel that energetically all stones have a destination in mind I am just trying to help them along, besides the trees and the necklaces are just beautiful.
