It was love at first blob
My shop has evolved so much over the last few years, but it all started with Gingerbread Pride Rock.
The Christmas my husband and I had just started dating, we decided we wanted to make a gingerbread house. But I didn’t want a regular gingerbread house, I wanted something weird, something no one had done yet. After some debate we settled on Gingerbread Pride Rock (from the Lion King)! The actual structure turned out amazing! But for the life of me I couldn’t get recognizeable animals out of the gingerbread, and I had done some playing with polymer clay as a child so we picked up some air dry clay and tried to make the animals out of it. They were so, so awful. Unrecognizable little blobs! To this day they sit on my desk and I cherish those little faceless lumps.
It was stubbornness that caused me to want to get better at it and try new things, and I fell in love with being able to sculpt whatever I could dream up. And several versions later - here are my creatures!
