CURLY Q'S COUNTER, LLC
I've loved fashion since I was old enough to dress myself. I've had a quirky sense of style ever since I was a little girl and would wear sunglasses with the lenses popped out just to make a fashion statement. I had always dreamed of doing something BETTER with my funky clothes/outfit stylings and ideas, but never knew how it was possible.
I was very driven after graduating high school, and knew I also wanted to make a difference in others lives. I set out to be in the healthcare profession upon graduating with my four year degree. After school, I got married and started pursing my next degree in the clinical research field for my Masters of Science.
After having my first son in January 2013, I realized I wanted to take a step back from the healthcare world and pursue my ultimate passion: my family. I wanted to still be able to spend ample amounts of time with my son and not leave him for work every morning, but still be able to contribute to my family's finances. In July 2013, I picked up my tools and set out to create items from my home office; Items I would want to dress my son in. I really wanted to design fun, unique apparel for little boys and girls. After dressing my little man for a while, I realized there was a void in the market for boys. Being a total girlie girl myself, it was second nature to be inspired to develop fun items for girls, however, I really wanted my designs to stand out and have different options for mom's who had little dudes.
The originality and creativity behind the items I choose to offer play a huge role in this business. We also use a special hand distressing technique and focus on designing distinct pieces you won't find anywhere else. I’m very passionate about everything I make, and each piece takes an ample amount of time.
Things started to pick up in the beginning of January 2014, so I knew it was time to hire some peeps (you can check out their cool bio's in our about page!). My family helps keep the shop running with assistance in production, and my customers fuel the drive to keep going and creating every day. It is such a surreal feeling to feel like I'm really living out my dreams in the small shop fashion world!
Since opening in the summer of 2013, we've had some really amazing features that you can check out below in the 'Press' section. It's been such an honor to be featured in celeb kids' wardrobes and incredible publications. I do not take anything for granted and am truly grateful to everyone who has given me a chance thus far.
I have expanded my shop to feature items for all ages and genders, even up to adults. I love designing and creating one of kind items. No two items in my shop are exactly alike. I take exceptional pride in all of my products and guarantee their quality. As of November 2014, we now offer screen printed apparel and are SO excited to bring you exclusive graphic t-shirts we have designed.
In January 2015, we welcomed our son who was born at 34 weeks. He has inspired our Preemie Awareness Collection, which a portion of the proceeds goes to March of Dimes' Prematurity Campaign. This is a huge passion of mine and I love giving back to this cause and donating these special pieces to NICU's all over the USA.
Thank you for the encouragement over the last several years! We would not be here without our amazing customers and supporters.
