Fuchsias, Cyclamens and Lobelias
Hi, I'm Rebecca and I have been designing and creating artwork and artisan jewelry for nearly 20 years. I completed my studies at Massachusetts College of Art in marine illustration, and while working full time as an illustrator, I began creating jewelry, linoleum prints and textiles for fun as a hobby. Soon I decided to sell a few of my pieces at a local artisan shop and my first shop, Fuchsia Bloom Studio was born. I named it after the beautiful fuchsia flowers I saw growing on bushes on the roadside in Ireland.
I recently opened this shop, Cyclamen Studio ( named after another of my favorite flowers!) to exhibit my more modern jewelry designs, as my other shop has become a venue for my vintage and nature inspired work.
My third shop, Lobelia Bidelia, is an outlet for my vast bead and vintage jewelry collection, with a few oddities thrown in.
I currently work at my little home-based studio in Providence, Rhode Island (frequently interrupted by my two lovely kids!) and create jewelry, prints, art and textiles which reflect my love of color, nature and my passion for all things vintage.
There is an eclectic mix of styles in my shops - some pieces have an antique feel reflecting my interest in designs from the Medieval, Edwardian and Art Nouveau/Deco periods, some reflect my love of flowers, Celtic and mystical things and some have a funky, artsy vibe. Besides my online shops I exhibit in galleries, sell to specialty boutiques and at artisan fairs.
I have a real passion for creating and am constantly dreaming up new ideas! I try to incorporate my love of color and nature and knowledge of design into each piece. I also pay great attention to quality and craftsmanship to insure that you receive many years of enjoyment from your purchase.
