Very realistic replica! Purchased in honor of my late grandmother, who wrote in her unpublished memoir: “My best friend in high school was Marguerite Paine. I stayed at her home overnight many times. Her father [Clifford E Paine] was the main designing engineer for the Golden Gate Bridge. He was back and forth between California and home many times as the office of the Straus [sic, Strauss] Engineering Company was in Chicago. Only later did we learn he was building one of the wonders of America. One time we asked for his help with our geometry homework. I remember him saying that work started at both ends of the bridge at the same time and they would have to meet within an eighth of an inch in the middle.”

Fabulous model of the bridge. It looks gorgeous!!! Easy to assemble using the how-to video. We have it in our living room, and it's a standout!!

You can tell a lot of thought was put into both the design and packaging of this bridge. David took advantage of the print bed for as many surfaces as he could to create very smooth 'show' surfaces and all of the parts are very well toleranced. The kit arrives with ample bubble wrap protecting all of the pieces. Additionally, all of the parts are in labeled bags and they even placed the bags in order, which was a subtle but appreciated touch! Spare parts were included too. The hardest part about building this kit was getting the pins in the wall. (Because of course the one time I don't need a stud I find one! XD) Being designed after a bridge and with intelligent clips, it is also very study. Finally, it has the perk of being a head turner. I've had it up for 1 day and already had several people double take as they walked past.

My husband and I absolutely love our Golden Gate Bridge model/replica. We recently moved from SF after living there for over 40 years - this made us so happy. The experience of putting it together was exciting as the bridge comes to life piece by piece. Thank you so much for this amazing creation David! You are so talented! Wishing you much success!
