Directive was founded in December 2012 with a small collection of hand painted canvas and colored canvas bags. Since 2012, Directive has grown into a leather and hand painted canvas accessories line using high quality Milwaukee, WI tanned hides as much as possible and water based permanent fabric inks to paint unique designs rooted in the handmade tradition. Directive is a one-woman operation, every piece is cut, painted, and sewn by Jess Goehner. Our growth continues with the ongoing search for Made in the USA and Milwaukee based hardware manufacturers, USA grown cotton made into our canvas, and the goal of bags that last a lifetime, not just a season.
