She is one of several mermaid illustrations I've been working on! I will have more available in the coming week!

Hey friends! I've recently created some new illustrations! I am currently very inspired by period fashion, royal opulence, fabric embellishment and the expression of general fabulousness. All of my originals are available for purchase, custom orders too!

About

The Doodoodloo Story

Hi! My name is Freya and I am an artist and designer from Melbourne, Australia. My practice largely explores goddess mythology, female shamanism and the relationship between women and their dress as a form of divine, personal expression. It seeks to envision a bold and unforgiving form of femininity that is inclusive and aligned with the expansiveness of cosmic creativity.

I've drawn girls since I could wield a pencil, but my current aesthetic began to develop when I was fourteen and picked up a waterproof fineliner pen while on an island in the Pacific Northwest. From out the end of my pen came a person! And then more and more! Over the years they have become more defined and more colourful. I consider my girl drawings to be an ever evolving life series.

Tumblr became an avenue for me to show my work and introduce my friendly illustrated sisters. I was encouraged by supporting cyber friends to open this shop, and I began my Doodoodloo Etsy journey in February, 2013.

I am currently in the process of reimagining my illustrations as tangible experiences by creating unique, wearable pieces of apparel, but for now you will just find my original artworks for sale!

I find inspiration from lavish period fashion, flora, surrealism, dreams and other mysteries such as astrology, boulder opal, witchcraft and things that glow in the dark such as beautiful phosphorescent fungi!

In February, 2017 I graduated with a Bachelor of Communication Design and have previously received a Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design.

I am currently based in Hobart, Tasmania, though Doodoodloo is often on the move.

Thanks for coming by to visit! Please feel free to make yourself known and say hi through my inbox.

Much love,
Xo Freya

But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Returns and exchange details
I do not offer refunds. However, in the case that there is an issue with the drawing I will happily negotiate the possibility of an exchange agreement. Please note that I do my best to capture the artworks with natural light true to colour. If for any reason you are disappointed with the drawing after arrival please contact me to discuss.

CUSTOM ARTWORKS:

After the completion of your custom order I will send you a photograph of the drawing. If for any reason you are unhappy with it I will negotiate a plan to redo the artwork within two weeks. For any pre-paid arrangements or deposits I do not offer a refund.

Please note that the order of a custom artwork is a mutual agreement which relies on commitment. I put aside time for custom orders as I do work hours at a job! I hope that we are both aiming for a win/win situation.
Payment
My preferred payment is credit card or Paypal.

For Australian customers direct payments through bank transfer is possible.
Shipping
Each artwork is delivered in a tough do-not-bend envelope. The artwork is covered with a protective plastic sleeve inside the envelope. Envelope and artwork are NOT waterproof (however I have never gotten a bad review or heard of a parcel getting wet or damaged, luckily!)

Parcels are posted within 1 to 3 days of purchase from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. International parcels should arrive within 10 - 14 days of purchase. I can not guarantee an arrival time but can suggest an estimate where needed!

Please ensure your artwork will be arriving to a safe, dry PO Box or mailbox. I do not take responsibility for wet or damaged artworks but if you have any issues please feel free to contact me.

CUSTOM ARTWORKS:

Custom artworks will be completed within 3 weeks. Please allow an extra 3 - 14 days for postage depending on location.

Size and price must be negotiated and agreed upon prior to me beginning the artwork. Changes to order and details will not be accepted in most cases.

Set prices start from $60 AUD with an additional $5+ for more figures. If you are wanting me to draw a group we will have to negotiate a size and format to suit and there may be additional costs. Just shoot me a message with your idea to discuss!

Before committing to a custom order please check that your order is in line with my style. I am more experienced with younger, human faces. However if you want to see how I draw families and pets please visit my SOLD section to see past custom artworks for clients.
