U’i Jewelry originally started out as D’Rae Designs - a store that carried many different jewelry lines and craft items. Over time, I stopped making craft items and focused only on jewelry … all kinds of jewelry. With a mixture of pieces in my store, I felt it was time to separate these lines and build individual brands for each one! That’s how U’i Jewelry was formed. All my pieces are created using a variety of materials, from beach treasures to semi-precious stones, metals and recycled glass.

Please securely and carefully package your return. Be sure to include your order number and indicate this is a return with your package. I highly recommend you insure your return package and obtain a tracking number. Items that are lost or damaged during transit back to me, cannot be refunded. At this time your original shipping charges are non-refundable. The cost to ship the item back to me will be your responsibility, unless there was a mistake on my end.

Your return package must be postmarked and mailed back within 14 days of delivery. Pieces that aren’t returned within 14 days may be assessed a re-stocking charge.

Refunds will be issued upon return of the item. If an item is returned and it appears to be used, damaged, altered in anyway, no refund can be given. Returns and refunds take approximately 2 weeks to complete.

The item must be in the same condition in which it was sent to you, unused and the items cannot be altered in any way. Shipping rates apply to all exchanges to and from my studio.

To provide you with the best service and product, requests for order cancellations can only be made within 24 hours of order placement. If your order is in production or ready to be shipped, it cannot be cancelled. In this case, please read our return policy. Custom jewelry orders cannot be cancelled or changed after the order is in production.

Shop with Peace of Mind! Your order is fully insured so if your package gets lost in the mail or it arrives damaged, your item will be fully refunded.

My promise to you is that I will ship within the scheduled ship by date but delivery times are estimated and not guaranteed. The only shipping method that guarantees delivery time is express mail.

Please verify the shipping address is correct during check out as this is the address your package will be mailed to. At this time, U'i Jewelry cannot be responsible for packages that the USPS service has marked delivered by your local carrier but were not received. I will do whatever I can to help you locate your lost package but you will need to make contact with your local carrier for further assistance. Furthermore, we cannot be responsible for misplaced packages, stolen packages or shipment errors due to incorrect address information that was provided during checkout. Please contact USPS directly for these or any other delivery related issues. Any packages that are returned to the studio with a return to sender note will be processed as a refund return, less a 18% restocking fee and fees incurred to ship your item.

During check out, you select your shipping method of standard first class, priority or express. Standard shipping is the default method, if you’d like to upgrade to priority or express, click on the drop box and select. If priority mail shipping is NOT selected all items under 13 ounces will be mailed Standard First Class via USPS with insurance, delivery confirmation and tracking information through your Etsy account. You will receive an email when your item has been shipped and you may track your package.

If you purchased multiple items via separate orders, your items will be shipped separately unless you contact me and instruct otherwise.

Tracking for International shipments can be limited. Tracking will show where your package left in the last US port and will not update in the system until your package is with your country’s postal carrier.

The buyer may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once your package arrives in your country. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. Please check with your country's customs office for more information and to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making your purchase. When customs clearance procedures are required, it may cause delays beyond our original delivery times.

All international orders will have the full value declared on customs forms. I will not refund original shipping charges for buyers that do not claim or refuse items to avoid paying import taxes, customs duties and fees applied by their country. Any non-custom, unclaimed or refused items will be assessed a restocking fee refunded once we have received the item back. If your package is returned or refused, it will be processed as a refund less any shipping fees that U'i Jewelry incurred and it will be assessed an 18% restocking fee. Any custom or hand stamped items cannot be refunded.

Registry fees start at $11.75 and up and cover up to $47.33 in merchandise. If you would like to register your item, please contact me prior to ordering to get the correct amount for your country. As per the USPS, this process will slow your order down by 10-12 days if it is registered.
If for any reason, you have provided an incorrect address with your order, please contact me immediately. Once an order ships, the address cannot be changed. D A M A G E D • I T E M S
Although I do my best to package your items safely and securely, accidents do happen. In the event your item does arrive damaged, please keep the original box and contact me IMMEDIATELY with a detailed description of the damage, photos of the damaged item and box. I will file a claim with the insurance company to make sure your item is refunded as quickly as possible. Hold onto the damaged property until the claim is resolved, or your claim will be denied.

Please be aware that sometimes there are postal delays with the USPS and because your item is coming from Hawaii, delivery can sometimes be delayed. If you have not received your item within two (2) weeks for domestic and six (6) weeks for international, please contact me as your order is insured and refundable if not received and not marked delivered or undeliverable. Also note that lost packages do have a “waiting” period before a claim may be filed. For domestic orders (USA) it’s 45 calendar days and for international (Non-USA) it’s 65 calendar days from the date the package was accepted into USPS system. All packages must be deemed lost by the USPS before a refund can be given. All lost package claims must be made within 120 days from the shipment date. Once that time has passed, no claim can be made.

P A C K A G I N G
Items in my store will arrive with care tips in a sealed bag. Some items cannot be gift wrapped because of their large size, awkward shape, or because they're too fragile. If this is the case, you'll see a notice in the listing description under packaging.

I don’t include the receipt in any of my packages, your receipt is emailed directly to you. If your purchase is a gift being sent directly to the recipient and you would like to include a special handwritten message, please leave me a message in the notes to seller box when you check out. I’m very environmentally conscious and try to avoid unnecessary waste, but I would be happy to provide you with additional gift boxes upon request.

My shop is very earth friendly and I try to recycle shipping material to prevent unnecessary waste. Your item(s) are either put into a bubble wrap mailer or shipping box with shredded recycled packing paper and/or bubble wrap surrounding the item for protection.

Do you have a physical store or sell local in stores?
Not at this time but possibly in the future.

Do you offer local pickup and can I come to your studio and shop?
Everything I make is made to order. Currently my studio is set up for production only and generally I don’t have stock on hand and available for viewing.

When will my order ship?
All items are handcrafted and made to order in Maui, Hawaii and take about 1-5 business days to make, custom orders 1-7 days. Please know that this does NOT include weekends or holidays. I do have current information on processing times in my shop announcement. Click on the read more link in the announcement section of my store for up to date turnaround times.

Will I receive an email when my order ships?
Yes, you will receive an email when your item has been shipped and you may track your package via your invoice.

Can I return or exchange my items?
Yes, as long as it’s not a custom order, sale item, personalized item, altered item, used/worn item, you may return it. Please see detailed return policies under the refund policy section.

How do I clean my jewelry?
Use a non-abrasive cleaning material like a mild dish washing liquid diluted in water. Use a polishing cloth to restore the shine after washing. Paste or strong jeweler cleaner is not recommended for plated metal as it may remove the plated silver or gold. Do not let your jewelry come into contact with nail polish removers, perfume or hairspray.

How do I store my jewelry?
To ensure that your jewelry stays bright, keep it in an airtight container or a sealed bag like Ziploc. After each use quickly give it a clean with a dry cloth before placing into airtight bag or container. We recommend putting your jewelry on last when getting ready, as direct exposure to hair-styling products and perfume will often also damage the metal and gemstones. Do NOT use jewelry when swimming in chlorinated, thermal or salt water OR when showering. Also avoid wearing silver while exercising as this will cause sweat and other toxins, which can contribute to tarnish.

Can I leave personalization details?
Yes! Once an item(s) is in your cart, you can leave a message in the “Add a note to seller” box with every bit of information you can think of. I read all my customers notes and will contact you if I have any questions or concerns.

What kind of personalization details should I Include in the “add a note to seller” box?
Each piece will have different personalization instructions. Be sure to check the listing description under the section "how to order". This will tell you all the information that I need to process your personalized piece. The most common forgotten detail is if you want your inscription in ALL CAPS, Title Case, or all lowercase (if applicable).

Can I customize my order and how long will it take?
Yes, I welcome custom and special orders. Most custom orders are made within 3-5 business days. All custom and special orders require payment prior to creation. Custom and special orders are non-refundable, non-returnable and non-exchangeable.

Will the letters on my personalized pieces be perfect and straight?
Keep in mind that personalized designs are created custom, just for you by using the art of hand-stamping. Each letter is set one at a time by hand, not machine, and set with a hammer against a steel bench block. This means lines won’t be perfectly straight and in my opinion, that creates a jewelry piece that has its own character, uniqueness and beauty. My intention is to provide you a well-made, hand crafted, quality piece without a perfect commercial look.

Do you offer wholesale?
Sorry, I don't offer wholesale. I love working with my customers, one on one and like to keep my pieces in house and from Hawaii.

Can I purchase an item and send it as a gift?

What kind of material and metal do you use?
I use a variety of metal and material and specify what type is used in the listing description. Please refer to the listing description for specific details.

What’s the difference between Gold Filled vs. Gold Plated?
The difference with the gold plated versus the gold filled is definitely price but gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is more valuable and tarnish resistant. It doesn't flake off, rub off or turn colors. Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold. Gold-plated jewelry has less gold and goes through a different manufacturing process than gold-filled jewelry. You definitely pay a higher price for gold filled.

What’s the difference between Sterling vs. Plated?
Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver, which is why it is so much more expensive than plated items. Sterling silver can be melted and the pure silver recovered rather inexpensively. Silver plate is the process of bonding an extremely thin layer (measured in microns) of silver to a base metal; most commonly used are copper, brass, white metal, or nickel. This layer of silver is so thin and nearly impossible to recover from the item without expensive means, and is not worth the cost of recovery due to the small amount of silver that can be recovered.

Does sterling silver tarnish?
Yes, it does over time. Sterling Silver by definition is .925 silver. It is a great silver option for those who don't wear gold. Sterling silver will tarnish from oxidation but with the proper care and cleaning can be brought back to a shine.
