A Nerd is born!
A lot of people asked me "Why 'for Nerds'?" - Well, probably because I am one myself. It all started in 1992 when I got my NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) for christmas. My first flavour of nerd was born! In addition I was also fascinated with computers but never could quite understand them fully so I mostly stayed on the user side of it.
Much later a friend of mine introduced me to cosplay and that's what restarted my interest in sewing. I have always been crafty and creative, I probably got that from my mum. She was always crocheting or knitting something. I also got my love of reading from her.
I wanted to start a creative business for a very long time but never quite knew what I should focus on.
Later I got also interested in sustainability and the environment and decided that I wanted to do something eco-friendly. The combination of all of this is what you see here - Daisy Chain Oddities.
Do you want to know how I came up with the name? Well, it all started in a computer science class. We learned about a way how to connect several devices that was called Daisy Chain, like the chain you make out of daisies as a child (we are all still kids at heart, right?). I thought that name was funny as it reminded me of something that I liked (flowers and duck tales) and it sounded like a name at the same time. Later when I had to pick a name for my etsy shop I remembered that name, but there were far too many Daisy Chains around already so I added "oddities" to it. I am a little weird anyway (in a good way!).
Fun fact: I met a good friend of mine in those computer science classes. She is the one taking those great pictures of my products! (If you find a picture that is not great, then it is probably because I took it)
