Two Dutch sisters who love boots👢
Welcome to the Dandelie community! Founded by sisters Jeanne and Isabelle, Dandelie grew from our shared passion for vintage fashion, lasting style, and the kind of boots you never want to take off!
The name Dandelie is inspired by the life cycle of the dandelion flower. After blooming, its seeds drift through the wind to find new places to grow. It’s a symbol of freedom, resilience, and movement — values that are deeply rooted in our brand. Like those seeds, each of our pieces is on its own journey: from its original maker or era to your wardrobe, where it can bloom again.
Growing up in the countryside of Groningen, in the north of The Netherlands, we were always surrounded by open blue skies, wildflowers, and quiet roads. Our passion for footwear and apparel was shaped by our mother, nature, nostalgia, and the thrill of discovering hidden gems! Long before Dandelie came to life, we were already procuring and collecting vintage women’s boots and clothes for fun. Over time, our passion grew into a bigger, bolder vision– something more meaningful.
After finishing our education in Business Administration, we decided to turn our dreams into a reality. In 2021, we started curating a vision board of how Dandelie will shape up, where we can find manufacturers or suppliers with ethical and sustainable practices, and procure eco-friendly premium quality materials. Every single pair of our leather boots for women was designed, styled, and brought to life by us, teaching us the time and detail it takes to run a women led small business. We first started selling our unique boots via Instagram and after witnessing the overwhelming love for our products and support for our vision, we officially launched Dandelie as a brand in 2022! This was a space where we could bring together our favourite things– right from handcrafted boots, vintage clothing, to all our other thoughtful, sustainable designs.
