I started Dapper Darling in 2018 when my family and I were living abroad in New Zealand. Dapper Darling (named after my children, I have a boy (Dapper) and my 2 girls (my Darlings) was originally family blog to capture our life living in another country. Once we returned back to the states, we bought a farm where we now currently have 2 horses, 3 mini donkeys, 2 mini goats, 4 chickens, 3 cats, 2 roosters and 2 dogs! I started making my own horse treats for our farm, when a friend suggest I start selling them. She loved the idea of a horse treat that was not only gluten-free for our celiac friends but that organic and USEF approved ingredients were used. One thing led to another and Dapper Darling turned into Dapper Darling Equine. I love make a horse treats that (mostly) uses only natural sugars, like pumpkin, apples, carrots, peanut butter and coconut. I do have the guilty pleasure sweet treats because, just like us, I feel like our horses and ponies deserve something extra indulgent every now and then.
