Due to the authentic letterlocking techniques used in crafting each piece, your letter may feature creases, folds, or small punctures created during the sealing process. These are intentional results of historic folding methods, once used to protect secrets in transit, and are part of the letter’s immersive, old-world character.

Please be aware that some minor portions of text may be obscured by folds, flaps, or locking point holes. Letters may have minor smudging from printer toner due to folding. If your message contains highly precise wording or formatting, consider this before placing your order.

Letterlocking is an old-world technique used before envelopes were common. It involves folding and sealing a letter in a way that adds secrecy, style, and character. Each letter from Dear Dungeon uses a historically inspired letterlock, sealed with wax.

Yes! After placing your order, you’ll receive a message with instructions on how to submit your custom message (Limit to one full page of paper). Your message will be transferred onto handmade cotton deckled paper, and sealed using your chosen letterlocking style.

Each letter is crafted from your custom message to ensure it fits your story and world. We’re not offering writing services at this time, but we’re happy to offer simple formatting help or guidance if needed. Just send us your draft after placing your order!

We craft each letter on a single sheet of 11.75" x 8.25" A4, handmade cotton deckled paper.

You’re welcome to request a specific font style, add icons or jpg images, fantasy runes, cursive, etc., and we’ll do our best to match your vision! Please note that all messages must fit within a single page, so we recommend keeping your message concise (around 200–250 words, font and word size depending, black and white images only).

If your message is a bit longer or you'd like help adjusting formatting, feel free to reach out, we're happy to assist!

All letters are sealed and letterlocked before shipping, as this preserves the authenticity and integrity of the final piece. It’s highly recommended to receive them pre-sealed. However, if you have a special request or unique scenario, feel free to message us, we may be able to accommodate.

Custom letters are crafted by hand. Please allow [3–5 business days] for creation before shipping. If you’re on a tight schedule, message me, I may be able to accommodate.

We currently offer shipping within mainland United States. We're not set up for international orders just yet, but hope to expand in the future. Feel free to follow the shop for updates!

Due to the custom, made-to-order nature of our letters, we do not accept returns or exchanges. Each piece is crafted specifically to your request, personalized with your message, sealed using historic techniques, and folded uniquely.
