How This All Started (aka: My Accidental Etsy Journey)
Like most people in 2020… I was bored. Stuck at home. Baking banana bread. Watching way too much Netflix. My aunt, who’s a nurse at Kaiser, texted and asked if we knew anyone making masks. We didn’t. But I thought… how hard could it be?
Spoiler: It was hard.
I had only used a sewing machine once in my life (and that was for a high school fleece blanket project… shoutout to 2009 me). But my mom and I were determined. After some truly tragic first attempts and using headbands for elastic (because elastic was sold out everywhere), we finally made 50 masks and sent them off to my aunt and her coworkers. Mission complete! Right?
Wrong.
More nurses started reaching out. We were sewing like crazy. Fabric was flying. Our dining room basically became a mask factory. To cover costs, I posted on Instagram saying, “Hey friends, if you want a mask, I’m making them!” And honestly… I was blown away by how many people wanted to support us.
Eventually, the DM orders got out of control (IYKYK), so I opened an Etsy shop. I listed 10 designs… waited… and got zero sales the first week. I almost rage-deleted the whole thing. But I stuck with it—and suddenly, orders started rolling in.
Fast forward: we ended up shipping thousands of hand made masks all over the country. It was wild.
Since then, life’s taken me in a whole new direction. I’m now working as an event planner in the wedding industry (so cute and fun 💍✨). I’ve fallen in love with designing luxury signage and meaningful little details for couples—and that’s what this shop is now all about. Turning special moments into something beautiful and personal. Thanks for being here for the ride! ❤️
